| Despite the inclement weather on the evening of April 10, nearly 175 loyal supporters of Dianne’s attended her fundraiser at the White Eagle Owner’s Club on making it a huge success.
The cocktail reception was catered by The Guilty Party Catering, the small business she and her husband, Fred Greenwood, have owned since 1996. The guests enjoyed the tasty appetizers including sliced beef tenderloin mini sandwiches and other gastronomic delights. The open bar was tended by volunteer Stacia Hill.
Dianne received generous support from many labor organizations including the Illinois federation of Teachers, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Naperville Fraternal Order of Police, Bricklayers Union #73, Painters Council #30, Roofers Local #11; and Carpenters, Locals 1185 and 1307.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Suzyn Price, School District 203 Board President; retired State Representative J. Glenn Schneider; Scott Harper, candidate for Congressional District 13; Steve Paglia, candidate for Disrict 5 DuPage County Forest Preserve Board; Gary Nowak, candidate for State Representative in District 46; Bob Piekert and Michelle Barton, Chair and Vice Chair of the DuPage County Democratic Party; Amy Tauchmann, Executive Director of the DuPage Democratic Party; Tom Wronski, Chair of the Naperville Township Democrats; Nick Palmer, Chair of the Wheatland Township Democrats; Louis Kosiba, Executive Director of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund; Max Bochmann, elected Trustee for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund; and Lee Betterman, former President of the Illinois Education Association.
Entertainment for the evening included a short comedy sketch donated by Dave Sinker, owner of the Comedy Shrine located in Naperville, and the drawing for a number of raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing, which was won by Scott Harper, candidate for the 13th Congressional District. Deejay Jason Robinson provided the musical enjoyment, playing Dianne’s favorite playlist. John Meis, longtime friend and colleague of Dianne’s, made the introduction, which was followed by a short welcome to her guests and a brief speech.
The campaign finance goals were more than met with this most successful fundraiser, enabling Friends of Dianne McGuire to continue to wage a successful campaign for State Representative. |

 | | | | | DIANNE MCGUIRE ON HER WAY TO STATE REPRESENTATIVE FROM DISTRICT 96
February 6, 2008
Today Dianne McGuire’s campaign for State Representative from District 96 begins in earnest after receiving 12,544 votes in the Democratic Primary.
Her opponent will be Darlene Senger who defeated Michael Bowler. The combined vote total for the Republican candidates was 10,599.
“I’d like to extend my congratulations to Darlene on her primary victory,” McGuire said. “I would also like to thank the people of Aurora and Naperville who came out and voted yesterday. I look forward to a spirited campaign.”
McGuire, a local teacher for over 25 years with Naperville School District 203 and a small business owner, looks forward to working with the citizens of Naperville, Aurora, and Warrenville as she campaigns. “As a retired educator, I know from working with children and adults what families in our community want and what they need”, McGuire said. “I want to deliver legislation that will positively impact their lives.”
Dianne McGuire wants to be the voice in Springfield for the Naperville and Aurora communities. Issues that will be important to Dianne McGuire as she campaigns in the District will be striving to maintain the educational excellence in Districts 203 and 204, seeking additional funding for our districts to ease the burden on local tax payers, promoting a strong business climate, and demanding the funding to end congestion on Route 59. | |

 | | | | | | Economy, roads, schools candidate's main focuses - Thursday, January 31, 2008After nearly three decades in the classroom, Dianne McGuire says she knows a thing or two about problem-solving.
And those mediation skills, she believes, will be crucial in bringing together opposing sides in Springfield.
The former Naperville educator and small business owner is running for state representative in the 96th House District to replace the retiring Joe Dunn, a Naperville Republican.
She is running unopposed in the Feb. 5 Democratic primary and will face either Michael Bowler, an Aurora insurance broker, or Naperville City Councilman Darlene Senger in November. read more ...

| DIANNE MCGUIRE ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE FROM DISTRICT 96 - Monday, November 05, 2007Dianne McGuire announced her candidacy as the Democratic Candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 96th District to fill the seat of retiring Republican Joe Dunn.
"I want to energize our state representation with a true understanding of what the basic needs are for residents in Naperville and Aurora," said McGuire. "I am not a politician. I am not an insider making deals for friends, but a friend of the community, who will work hard to make our lives better. As an educator, I know from working with both children and adults, what families want, what they need and I want to deliver legislation that can positively impact their lives."
Locally, statewide and nationally, Dianne has focused like a laser beam on being a leader on community issues. Locally, she contributed to civic causes through her dynamic involvement in District 203 as President of the Naperville Unit Education Association; she currently serves as an officer for her Homeowner's Association and as an appointed member of the Fair Housing Commission for the City of Naperville.
"The impact she has had on the Madison community will long remain in our halls and our hearts," said Erin Anderson, Principal, Madison Junior High School, of Dianne McGuire. "She has dedicated herself to teaching and learning and has been instrumental in the professional regard of teachers throughout this community. For years, as she has stood before her students and inspired them to reach for the stars, she did the same for her colleagues. Her energy is a motivator to all to be committed to this, the most valuable profession in our society."
Statewide, Dianne served on the State Board of Education's Those Who Excel Committee, as well as on the Illinois Education Association's Board of Directors.
Nationally, Dianne was elected to serve on the National Education Association's Board of Directors, 1993-99.
Dianne's years in the classroom and in the board room and as a small business owner have prepared her well for the duties and responsibilities of representing the residents of District 96. She has learned how to balance the interests of competing parties and to find that middle ground, wherein each party can achieve important goals and move forward, unlike the current gridlock we're seeing at the state level. Her training as a mediator will also enable her to effectively listen to all perspectives and to reach compromise positions, without losing sight of important values and interests. "When I am elected, I will bring not only a new perspective, but one which culminates from years of working with children and families, as well as from my experience as a small business owner. I understand the complexity and the essence of what it takes to represent the residents of District 96. I want to carry your voice to Springfield and to demand attention to the needs of the hardworking families in Naperville and Aurora."
Dianne has over twenty-five years of experience as a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade language arts and geography teacher at Madison JHS in Naperville Consolidated read more ...
